I had paid another electrician to come out to my vacation rental while I was out of town to troubleshoot the tripping of the breakers at my vacation rental. The other electrician (rhymes with Don) came out, said I needed a new air conditioner (mine was less than a year old), since the compressor was bad, and it tripped the breaker. That electrician charged me $125 for the service call, and his diagnosis was absolutely incorrect. Since I was out of town, I had a friend go to Lowes and buy a new one, to the tune of $500 + dollars. The friend installed the new room air conditioner, and it was also tripping the breaker on each and every plug in the house. The other electrician wanted to charge me an arm and a leg to piggyback another panel to split up the electric service. Thank goodness he never came back!! We are out $125 for his service call, and $500 for the new air conditioner, since it can't be returned.
Terry Hissong SAVED THE DAY. He met with my husband and did more trouble shooting, and determined that it was a BAD TRANSFORMER. He called the electric company, and they immediately came out and replaced it. All is now well in Apple Valley, and we CERTAINLY appreciate Terry's diligence, honesty, and the fact that he did not try to sell us something we didn't need.
